Contraindications and precautions
1.Possible teratogenic effects. Carefully administer the drug to pregnant women or women who may be pregnant, and advice must be given to engage the patient in decision making.
2.Do not use if you had an allergic reaction to the medication or its components.
3.Use with caution in pediatric, geriatric, patients with a history of gout, hyperuricaemia, moderate to severe liver problem.
4.Be cautious for increasing of uric acid level when use in conjunction with pyrazinamide.
5.Be cautious for hypoglycemia when use in conjunction with repaglinide or pioglitazone.
6.Be cautious for increasing the blood levels and adverse reactions of favipiravir when use in conjunction with Theophylline.
7.Be cautious for reducing the efficacy of famciclovir, sulindac when coadministered with favipiravir.
8.Not recommend prescribing Andrographis Paniculata (Far Ta Lai Jone) and favipiravir in combination due to possible drug adverse reaction. Click to listen highlighted text! Instruction
1.May consider prescribing favipiravir within 4 days of symptom onset.
2.Take this medication with or without food.
3.The tablets may be broken or crushed and feed via nasogastric tube (NG tube). Click to listen highlighted text! Adverse Reactions
1.This medication may cause severe side effects such as shock, anaphylaxis, pneumonia, etc.
The medication must be discontinued immediately.
2. Other side effects may be observed such as hepatitis, stomachache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, atopic dermatitis, hyperuricemia, blood CPK increased. Click to listen highlighted text!
