Contraindications and precautions
- Do not use in patients with thalassemia.
- Do not use in patients with hemochromatosis.
- Do not use if you had an allergic reaction to Iron salts.
- Do not use in patients with hemolytic anemia.
- Avoid use in patients with active peptic ulcer, inflammatory bowel disease.
- Avoid use in patients undergoing repeated blood transfusion.
- Use with caution in lactating women because this drug transfers into breast milk. Click to listen highlighted text! - Take the medication on an empty stomach with water or orange juice for the best absorption of Iron.

Adverse Reactions
- This medication may cause your stool to change to a darker colour (black or tarry stool) because of the colour of Iron. This is harmless.
- This medication may cause constipation, nausea, stomachache, diarrhea, or vomiting.
