PAXLOVID 150 mg/100 mg tablets (Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir)
Indications
- Treatment of COVID-19 in patients aged 18 years or older.
- Paxlovid consists of Nirmatrelvir (againsts SARS-CoV-2) and Ritonavir (help Nirmatrelvir remain in the body for a longer period at higher concentrations). Click to listen highlighted text! Contraindications and precautions
1.Paxlovid is contraindicated in patients with a history of clinically significant hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
2.Do not use Paxlovid in patients with severe kidney or severe liver impairment. Reduce the dosage in patients with moderate renal impairment.
3.There are many drugs that may interact with this medication, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, herbal products or supplements. Inform your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
4.Use for longer than 5 consecutive days is not recommended because the studies regarding the use of this medication for longer than 5 days are not established.
5.Paxlovid may decrease the efficiency of the medicines to treat HIV.
6.Paxlovid is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation because no safety data are available regarding the use of this medication in these populations.
7.Breastfeeding should be interrupted during treatment with Paxlovid and for 7 days after the last dose because it is not known how much Paxlovid passes into breast milk. 1.Recommended doses: Take 2 tablets of Nirmatrelvir with 1 tablet of Ritonavir orally twice daily.
A blister pack is divided into 2 colors. The yellow color is for morning use, and the blue color is for evening use.
2.Paxlovid can be taken with or without food.
3.The tablets should be swallowed whole and not chewed, broken, or crushed.
4.Missed dose:
4.1 If a dose is missed within 8 hours of the time it is usually taken, administer as soon as possible and resume the normal dosing schedule.
4.2 If a dose is missed by more than 8 hours, do not administer the missed dose and instead administer the next dose at the regularly scheduled time. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
