Contraindications and precautions
- Do not use if you had an allergic reaction to this medication or its components.

Recommendations of drug use
- Use in children or patients under 18 years of age are not recommended.
- It is recommended to use this medication at the same time every day.
- These SPIRIVA capsules are used for inhalation with the HandiHaler only, not for oral administration.
- Do not breathe into the HandiHaler.

How to Use HandiHaler
1.Open the dust cap by pressing the green piercing button to reveal the mouthpiece. Then lift the mouthpiece to reveal the center chamber.
2.With dry hands, seperate and remove 1 SPIRIVA capsule from the blister pack by tearing along the perforation. Do not use a knife, scissors, or other sharp implement to cut the blister pack. Peel back the foil on the blister pack, remove the capsule and place it in the center chamber. If you accidentally open more than one blister pack, do not use the other capsules. Discard them properly.
3.Close the mouthpiece firmly until you hear a "click".
4.Hold the HandiHaler with mouthpiece upwards and press the green piercing button "once" to puncture the capsule. Do not shake the HandiHaler.
5.Breath out gently away from the device.
6.Place the mouthpiece between the teeth with lips closed around the mouthpiece.
7.Breath in slowly and deeply. You will hear the capsule vibrate.
8.Hold your breath for 10 seconds (or as long as you can). Remove HandiHaler from your mouth.
9.Breath out slowly.
10.If the capsule is not completely empty, repeat steps 5 - 8.
11.Pull the mouthpiece up and let the used capsule fall, then hold the HandiHaler upside down, and gently tap it to remove SPIRIVA powder.

How to clean the device
-Clean the inhaler at least once a month.
